  • Right to view tenancy (secure council tenant via mutual exchange)

After recently completing a mutual exchange swap, my elderly father is now a Secure tenant via assignment. Partners Housing (representing Islington council) are saying my father has no right to a copy of his new tenancy agreement.

    Is this true?

Which, if not all terms of his agreement is he entitled to demand a written copy of? Can he force the landlord to let him see the tenancy agreement?

At the time of assignment he was told his contract would be posted out. He is now being told the landlord has no obligation to do so, and he has been provided all the information required.

He has so far received a copy of assignment.....along with a generic "secure tenancies of Islington" document. This says nothing about rent amounts and due dates, and has no detail regarding specific details of the new address such as shared common areas etc.

    Any information much appreciated.

    Thanks.

    Marcus

Ive no idea why the Landlord is being so difficult.??
