Old tenants debts

My tenants (5-6yrs ago) & other tenants have been in since. I moved bk last June. & have been last 4-6weeks getting debt collectors & balifs letters threatening to.come round. I was in contact these tenants (dad owes £10.5k & daughter owed £150. But as sooo long ago how r they still using my address. I contacted them to let them know & now getting abusive texts ! How can i do debt crefit checks for hse? Concerned it'll be black listed.
