  • Can I Contact the estates recovery department direct

    Hi.
I'm having problems with a family member who has appointed a solicitor. Funds were due to be paid out and then suddenly, we were advised that The Estate recovery department has put forward an enquiry. After Probate had been granted.

I know the process can be slow. It has now been 2 weeks and have asked my family member to contact the appointed solicitor to get a progress report from The ERD.

I was informed to just wait and let it take it's course, and if I needed more information, the additional costs would have to be paid by me alone.

So I ask for advice. Can I contact them (ERD) myself for an update/Progress report? Or do I have to go via the solicitor?

Any advice on this would be so greatly appreciated.
    Micky
