  • Help please with a Lowell Default of £36!

    Hi all

New to the forum and wanted to say hi and also ask if anyone has any advice for me, I would be much obliged!

I want to apply for a mortgage but worried about a default I have from Lowell. It's in the sum of £36, which I paid in May 2015. The default date is 10/04/2011. This pertains to a T-Mobile dongle that I had years ago that never worked in my area, despite me putting in my postcode and it checking. I managed to get it cancelled but they tried to charge me for the month in the sum of £15. I wasn't having it, as it never worked. But then it seemed to magically go up to £36 and it was never taken off my file, it seems. I think T-mobile must have registered it as a default and then it appears Lowell have registered it again. Are they legally entitled to do this?

I have written to Lowell asking them to take it off but they won't.

All of my paperwork relating to the letters I sent to T-mobile outlining my case were stored on my very old webmail, which I don't now have access to. I think it was 2009/2010 time when I got the dongle.

    Kind regards
