  • A possibly silly question about PPI

I know this sounds silly but I keep getting beleaguered by PPI companies and it has got me thinking.......

In the 80's, 90's I was fairly financially well off and help a number of credit cards (20+) . I have all the details and account numbers, expiry dates etc. I am certain many had PPI on them which as a self-employed person, was useless.

In 2007 I was declared bankrupt and defaulted on all of these accounts. I was discharged a year later and the final day for "Proving" my previous debts was 3 years ago. In effect any money recovered after that time goes to me not the Official Receiver becomes mine!

Claim for mis-sold PPI on these accounts even though I defaulted on them. Bearing in mind the PPI was private insurance and not the original debtors liability! surely any money recovered now should come to me

I think I know the answer buy would appreciate anyone's advice. If you don't ask, you don't get
