  • Help please in relation to a MOrtimer Clarke Solicitors Letter re Vanquis

    HI

I am after some assistance please , I have this morning received a letter from Mortimer Clarke Solicitors in relation to a Vanquis Debt via Cabot , they are threatening Court proceedings if I do not respond - no timescale for the response is given - . I can see from my credit file this account was opened in October 2004 and the default date is 29/10/2010.

I remember this account as at the time i stopped payments I had given up work due to having a son born with life threatening conditions and spent lots of time away from home at hopsital with him . I did have an insurance policy with Vanquis and asked for this to be activated . Vanquis called me a couple of times and send letters with in a year of his birth (2009) , I explained the situation and they accepted this .

I didnt hear anything further until last year when Cabot started chasing me and tbh I ignored the letters - what is the best way of dealing with this now

    thanks alot
