Bank Charges

Can anyone help. I am on benefits and have an arranged overdraft with my bank and are therefore being charged around 30 pounds every month for said overdraft . I have been told by a friend that I can claim back all of the money I have been charged due to being on benefit, is this true. Many thanks for any advice given.
