  • Do i have to go to court to see a Deed of Assignment?

A debt buyers solicitor has refused to provide me with a copy of a Deed of Assignment for a debt they say i owe. They said they weren’t obligated to show me it and a copy of a Notice of Assignment was enough to show the debt was transferred to their client. They are still gathering other documents I requested and would be in touch.
I found this site whilst looking for information on the legalities of seeing the actual Deed. I read someone else’s post about the same issue. They had got as far as court which was adjourned to allow the document be produced.
should i wait till they take me to court over the alleged debt then produce my two previous requests for sight of the document?
Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.
    cheers
