  • Compensation delay

A falling accident happened three years ago: Solicitor instructed and and shortly afterwards some initial compensation given for medical treatment.
One would think this is an admittance of liability, yet nothing further has been agreed between the Solicitors: there is now talk of going to court to settle!
Can anyone please offer some explanation as to why a seemingly admission of liability, given several thousand pounds were given, needs too be resolved in court.
Supportive Medical examinations have been carried out and many reasonable "but for" the accident statements made, yet no progress for closure made.
I understand the maximum compensation for this claim is £25000.
    Thank you.
