  • Newbie saying hi

Heard so much about this great page and now in need of advice. I'm in a battle with a very large company over a refund of £200, following return of a faulty item purchased online from that company. No issue with them agreeing to refund me, but they told me they'd send payment to a now dead account. I asked for the payment to be made to a current account and was told by customer services that their Finance Department would contact me to arrange that. To cut a long story short, they never did and I was given the runaround in subsequent calls and 'web chats' (transcriptions kept) without resolution. Plenty of promises, no action. I followed up with a written letter of complaint, and yesterday received a call from their offices, advising that under UK money laundering law they were not allowed to refund to any place other than the original payment method. Seems ridiculous especially for such a small amount, but if this is the case why did none of the several customer agents I connected with tell me this? There are may reasons why accounts are closed, so others must also be losing refunds. Which forum ought I to go to? I suspect I'm still being given the runaround.
