(4 property chain - I am property 3 purchasing 4)
Yesterday I was supposed to simultaneously exchange and complete. My solicitors had been trying to exchange since the 18th but our buyers solicitors have been so unresponsive that this wasn’t possible.
At 4:30pm yesterday I was told that my solicitors now had the funds from our sale and did try to send on our purchase funds to our vendors solicitors but they didn’t accept as it was too late (4:50pm).
At 5pm I was told by my solicitor that exchange and completion would now take place on Monday and this was now more certain because they are in possession of both the sale and purchase funds.
Yesterday we had packed our possessions but didn’t move them into a van as we didn’t want to leave them in there overnight.
So now I am wondering..
- Are my solicitors able to control when the purchase funds are sent on to our vendors solicitors? (Eg. A 12pm completion would give us time to load the van on Monday morning).
