Hi there,
I am the defendant on a money claim from a debt collection agency. The day I received the claim I sent out the required letters asking for the documents on which they rely. I heard nothing. Not a peep so I provded my defence on the last day ( a few days ago now) based on the fact that they have ignored my requests. NOw today I have received a letter granting me a time extension while they look for the documents. However the time extension letter was only mailed 1 working day before the defence was due (I included this date in my document request letter) so there was no way I could have recieved it in time bearing in mind covid mail. The defence has already been filed.
Is there anything I can/ should do at this point or is reciept of this letter kind of moot as they havent provided the documents and i didnt/ and reaosnably couldnt have received the extension in time?
Any advice wouldbe helpful. Thank you in advance.
