Relationship breakdown need advice on voluntary termination to end a finance

Hi my relationship as broken down I recently took out finance for a tourer caravan and cannot now afford the repayments, I contacted the finance company to say I couldn't afford it they said I should sign a surrender form but the tourer is with my ex and he put a large sum down as deposit and his not willing to return the tourer without is full deposit back , I really do not know what too do please advise on whether to do a voluntary termination or sign a surrender form thanks
