Hi
i have just completed a loft conversion prior to which the adjoining owners insisted on a party wall agreement and appointing their own surveyor. Their surveyor charges an arm and a leg to say the least but in order to complete the process and start building works I had no option but to agree.
following completion, they are now insisting on a final inspection by their surveyor again and of course I am liable for his extortionate costs. I have spoken to my neighbours and they have confirmed there has been no visible damage in their house but want him to “check their loft space” for any damages.
under the agreement, is there a legal obligation for a final inspection to be conducted or could I refuse as there has been no visible damage within their property.
thanks
