Dear all,
I have lost a parent during this Covid-19 pandemic. They were an NHS worker and died on the frontline after contracting Covid while working.
I understand their estate would be exempt from IHT. However the current will leaves everything to my other parent, which is a waste of the exemption. Would the surviving parent varying the will to make use of the exemption, backfire by invalidating the exemption?
Many Thanks
