Hello, I’m having a right nightmare!
I am in the process of getting a mortgage and checked my credit score in my credit check website.
I was shocked that I had a default x2 from British Gas.
1 for electric and 1 for gas dated in June 2020.
now the name/ date of birth are the same as mine and so is the address apart from the post code - I live in stoke and there a numerous same name roads.
to be clear I have not and have never been a customer of British Gas at all for my entire life.
I moved into my property on the 23.03.2010 and I’m checking the two defaults these are stating the contract started in the month of March 2019 but before I became the tentant where i live by some 20 days.
i tried ringing British Gas but can’t get through to a human to speak to at all - I have found the legal services for British Gas and wondered if it’s best to contact them directly?

I really need some help on this matter please
