I have been divorced for 2 years and have to sign over the house to my ex as part of the court order. Besides the main mortgage in the property there is a second charge against the property that is in joint names. My ex has been ordered to pay the mortgage and second charge but the finance company are refusing to remove my liability from the second charge. This they say is based on the fact they no longer lend money.
is there anything I can do to release myself as the tie to her financially and the liability on this second charge is preventing me getting a mortgage to buy my own home.
