  • New Property

We brought a new house. When installing the kitchen the developer has put a nail in the water pipe which has only just been discovered (been in property 10 months). Our carpet, sofa and tables are ruined but developer says he is only liable for fixing the damage to the building and not for reimbursement of our possessions. I don’t feel I should claim on my own insurance as I should not be liable for the excess or for increase in premiums due to the builders incompetence
