Debt collectors

After months of arguing over excess mileage after I vt’d my Clio last December RCI Finance are now threatening me with debt collectors. Firstly do they actually involve debt collectors or is it an empty threat to try to bully me ? Secondly do RCI push these matters all the way to court ? Thirdly has anyone actually Beaten RCI and had the mileage charges dropped ? Thanks Mick*
