  • Grant of Easement for Right of access

After purchasing a property, the neighbour has been a nightmare. He had planning permission for an extension at the point of sale but we were not told of this “easement” which gave him a right of way to his carport just behind his bungalow. That didn’t concern me at the time. His carport was demolished and a large extension replaced that. There is no need for “right of access” anymore. I am shocked that no conveyancer thought of removing it seeing as though planning was given and had started and there was no need to have it in place. He removed trees and erected bollards on my driveway claiming the land was his and tried to charge me extortionate prices including VAT (which he wasn’t registered) for fencing... I paid half after a relative in the construction trade told him what it should be costing. I eventually claimed my land back through solicitors but would like to remove the Easement so it doesn’t affect any future conveyancing problems. He has bullied and harassed me since 2015 and I have now found out that he has taken land at the bottom of the boundary. Can anyone tell me my rights please*
