  • Successor In Title

    Hi

Im trying to understand what Successor in Title actually means with regard to my house and land. So hoping you may be able to help me.

My house forms part of a 'homestead' of 2 houses and 10 acres of land.

Before i purchased my house, the whole homestead was under the title number of 12345.

As part of the purchase it came with 2 acres of the land and 1 of the houses where my neighbour used to live. This was registered at the land registry under a new title number of abcde ie my house and my 2 acres of land have a title number of abcde

The person who i bought the house and land from moved into the other house next door and retained the original title number of 12345. This is now known on my title as the 'Retained Land'.

So basically, my house used to have a title number of 12345 now it has a title number of abcde

On my TP1 it states 'Title number of of which the property is transferred 12345'

Does this mean that I am the successor in title of 12345?

    Kind regards.
