i made a big mistake at a bit of a bad time in my life and stole a £9 bottle of gin from my local coop. I go in there almost daily to purchase goods.
today I was in buying some groceries and a bottle of wine and the woman had to come over to self checkout and asked for my id. *When I was then purchasing my goods she asked another staff member why she had to check me and they said “cuz she nicked a bottle of gin”
my question is, why would they not have detained me there and then to ask me or have they let it go and just want to keep and eye on me?*
