Help vehicle being repossed it asking to give up becuse if default

Hi I have paid all my three years we was about to die give back my vehicle 16 March but one payment my husband missed he made arrangements with them *to pay but after that they asked for *another payment which I think there was a conversation misunderstood by my husband as there is a langue barrier he told them he will pay it they put default even thou he payed it but not on the date apeantly kniw they asking us to hand car over or voulantay and pay short full when gone to auction I’ve payed my full three years and know they doing this what can I do plz help I’m getting very depressed we have 4 small young children and having to deal with this when they have all money*
