  • Please help me, caught stealing in Debenhams 😰

Hi, today I was caught shoplifting in Debenhams, it was a bottle of perfume worth about £68. I’d left the store and plain clothes security stopped me and asked me to return the item and come back to the store. They took me to their office and asked for my details and ID which I showed them. They then called the police and gave them my details. I have no criminal record at all prior to this. After around 20 mins the security rang the police back (they were checking I didn’t have a warrant or wanted for any other crimes) and they advised them to deal with me via ‘operation Raptor’. I was then given a banning order signed by the manager and a letter saying the RLP will be in touch by a letter. If the police didn’t attend, Will this still be classed as a caution or show on a DBS? I am really worried I am going to lose my job over this moment of stupidity. Please help I can’t settle over worry, I can’t believe I’ve been so stupid!
