Hi, hoping someone can give some guidance.
The driver visited a local hospital and paid the fee for up to 2 hours stay. Unfortunately the driver displayed the ticket upside down on the dashboard!!!
Car park ticket itself is from a company who supply parking tickets machines all over the borough, so they would not obviously know it was from one of their machines from just viewing the rear of the ticket and therefore they couldnt see the times/the car reg!
BUT there is a reference number is printed on the ticket on both sides (the same on each side), so hoping that can give some traceability so the company can see it was for that car park, plus obviously the driver can supply a copy of the paid up ticket, complete with the car reg, to the parking company when disputing the fine.
The driver also has a ticket from the week before, from the same car park but a different pay machine. That earlier ticket shows a different reference number on the front and rear, but it has not been ascertained by the driver if this is a machine number or an individual ticket number!!
The driver left the car park two minutes before expiry of said ticket, not sure if they have number recognition or cameras, but the driver has a photo of the time the driver was leaving along with PCN that was taken on the drivers phone.
The Parking Charge notice says reason for issue is 'failure to display a valid ticket' and the fine is £60, reduced to £25 if paid in 14 days.
The company is Gemini Parking Solutions London Ltd, which is an active company with Companies House.
Wondering what the best way to approach this is - the driver has paid for the parking but appreciate they couldnt see that!
What are the chances of an appeal in such circumstances and the best way to approach this?
Appreciate any guidance, so thanks in advance
