Hi, just joined this website as I am after some advice on a secured loan taken out with Welcome Finance that has been sold on to Coast Finance Solutions. We have been struggling with paying the full monthly contractual payment of £317 for many years and had an agreement in place with Welcome to pay £175 per month with all interest frozen. Coast took over the loan around a year or so ago and have been hassling us to make higher payments which we will struggle to afford. They sent a field agent to the house (we apparently have to pay extra for this visit) last week whilst we were away on a short family visit, who left a letter through the door asking us to contact him by a certain date. As we were away we missed this date and have contacted him now but he has already filed his report back to Coast to say he had no contact from us. He suggested we up our payment slightly to an affordable amount and inform them of this via email or letter (they have no email address according to their Arrears Dept) stating that we have done this and that we had checked and it is an affordable amount to us and that we will review in 6 months. Whilst trying to find an email address online I have stumbled across the fact that Welcome Finance have now ceased trading and that any loan with them will not be pursued for payment. Does this apply to us with our loan being sold on? Or are we now liable to Coast? What will happen if we keep paying the amounts that we are currently paying? Can they force us to pay in full? Thank you in advance for any replies/advice
