I'm trying to buy a house in Bulgaria. I contacted a firm of solicitors in the UK and they quoted me a sum that was about a third of what I was expecting. I sent them the documents and they agreed to carry out the work. They sent me a bill and wanted me to pay it before they did the work. There was also an extra £100 which wasn't included in the original quote. I queried the extra money and they sent me a very rude and aggressive email saying that if I didn't trust them I could go somewhere else. I contacted another firm who quoted me the amount I had been expecting in the first place and then ran me through the process, which included some steps the first solicitor hadn't mentioned. Does this sound dodgy to you?*
