This forum has given me some great tips with several issues I’ve had in the last few years - very grateful for this community.
Now I find myself in need of specific advice on my pending c. £1,900 excess mileage charge from VW Finance. in summary, I had a Golf on PCP for 48 months at 20k miles per year/80k for the term. Planned to do up to 35k first 2 years and then give it to my partner for her local commute for the last 2 years and come in under the 80k limit for the term. Circumstances changed a year ago when the long term relationship ended. Couldn’t afford to keep the car for the term and run a second/company car so VT’d the golf in October, having waited to pay off 50% of the finance. Car went back in A1 condition as confirmed by the BCA inspection and with 69k miles on it with 31 months gone and 17 months left of the term. VT letter stated expected mileage is 53,313 and excess is 10.8p per mile. Please let me know if you think I’m within my rights to refuse to pay. Car was collected on Thursday to I’m waiting for the invoice to arrive... thanks, M
