my husband and i took out a loan with fp in 2007 all seemed well until he passed away suddenly....then the fun and games started, the ppi wouldn,t pay out because of re-existing conditions so i asked for all the paper work . To my horror fp had done the affordability assessment solely in my name and had taken my husband off, they claimed he had nil income( this was false) they claimed i held a second income which was a considerable amount ( also false) based on this the loan was granted..........i have complained to the fos and they agree there is a discrepancy but also say despite this discrepancy the loan was a joint application...............the fos offered no resolution to the errors in the affordability checks nor where the extra income came from relating to myself........is this legal?.....................over this past 12yrs i have more than paid the loan off but like many it has been sold to elderbridge and i,m scared i will never see the end of this as they have increased the interest rate higher than with fp. Elderbridge will not negotiate to make this affordable...... Can some one offer advice
