I have been reading a number of Voluntary Termination threads and still unsure what to do. I need to reduce the outgoings i have and getting rid of the car makes the most sense as my mrs has a car we could get by with. My monthly payments are £590 a month and i have gone 3 months past the 50% point as discussed with Audi finance. They have said I can VT and have sent me a pack via e-mail to complete before i return it. I have had the car 35 months and it has a full service (not an audi one) and has been looked after. It has a few scratches on the alloys but nothing major. The mileage contract i signed up for was 12k a year but i have done 54k as of today. The intention was never to do so many miles but changes to my role at work and changes in careers have meant that this mileage has increased more than any other time i have owned a car. My mileage is back down to about 1k a month now but it's too late to reduce the mileage. The mileage excess is 13.2p per mile meaning i will have a significant payment to pay now and even bigger one at the end of the agreement. As i am trying to prevent myself going into debt it feels pointless to VT-ing or continuing to pay. I really don't want to be in a situation where i am dealing with irate solicitors, bailiffs and poor credit scores. The VT process seems like it is there to protect you if you hit hard times and offer the consumer some assistance. However, it hardly helps if you then get hit with £2500 bill plus 'imaginary damage' to a 3 year old car. I want to complete the forms i have seen on here but has anyone done this with Audi (VWFS)?
