  • BW LEGAL

Hi, I am desperately hoping someone can shed some light on this for me.

I have spent sometime going over the newbie forum, and have found cases similar to mine but still have no idea how to proceed.

I received a letter of claim from BW LEGAL this morning on behalf of Britannia Parking Group.
    DETAILS:
date of contravention: 12 April 2019
Vehicle Reg: Is my previous car that has now been scrapped.
Contravention Description: Failed to make a valid payment
    Location: Local pub

This is the first letter I have had stating that I owe a parking debt. The pub used to operate free parking, and i believe the day I went here it had only just been put into practice. There was no signage outside/pay and display machines at the time. There was a sign on the back of the bar stating you had to pay parking when you brought your drink - I immediately moved my car upon realizing.

They now have signs and pay and display machines ect. The letter states I owe the £160.00 by 14th October are they will issue a claim against me in county court, resulting in £238.00 fees.

As I said this is my first letter regarding any of this, do I ignore, do I request a SAP? I also saw a template response requesting further details from BW Legal.

Would it be beneficial for me to speak with the pub myself? I apologize if you have been over this matter already and I have missed it, but I would really appreciate any advice you could offer.

    Many thanks
