My 15 and 16 yr old children’s step Grandfather died in 2008 .In his Will he left his estate to his Sister-in-law and Brother-in-law .Nothing to his late wife’s children or grandchildren. So my children’s late fathers sister said she was contesting the Will even if it was just something for the 5 Grandchildren. Mine being 7 and 6 at the time. So we where told that The sister had put my children’s money into a trust fund as they where under 18 ! Well my son is 18 in Aug and Asked the Aunt for the details of his and his sisters details for the trust fund . To which she replied she contested the Will and the money was hers! We have no idea how much she actually received .Even last year she had said she had put money in a trust fund for them. My children also lost there father last year and are devastated. Now to find out that their Aunt has lied about their trust funds has has made them feel even worse.
The said Sister has 2 older children (early 30,s at the time)and My children’s father had an adult daughter also in her 30,S at the time who said money was being put into an account for my 2. This family live in a Somerset whilst we all lived in Lancashire. I do believe that both the Aunts 2 Daughters received money and My children’s Step sister did. But not my 2 children. Surely if she contested the Will then my children’s father should of had an equal share of the estate and his other 2 children (mine)
I’m am looking for advice and how would I find out how the estate was eventually distributed .I have copies of the Will and Probate but no information about the Contested Will details . Please any help would be really appreciated! My children saw their Grandfather weekly where as The Aunt and her children and Step sister had not even bothered to visit him since around 2004. She had even rung her step father to ask for her inheritance early !He was devastating by it! Hence I think a change in his will
