  • Audi Finance - VT - Inspection completed, BCA driver refused to collect! HELP!

Hi everyone - I can't seem to find any answers for my bizarre situation as follows:

BCA inspected my vehicle last Friday morning. The inspector then advised me that there were a few very minor things which Audi might try to charge me for and told me not to sign his report (attached).

The BCA driver explicitly refused to collect the vehicle because the rear left tire was according to him, “illegal” and therefore the vehicle was un-roadworthy. He did this having proudly announced he already refused to collect another vehicle that morning and also after stating that he was aware the MOT was due to expire by the end of that day. There was no mention of the "illegal" tyre in the final report, which states there is 3mm of tread. In addition if there was an issue the driver would not have been instructed to collect the vehicle and it would have been in the inspection. The attached instructions for collection from BCA also specifically state:

The vehicle will be deemed un-roadworthy if: o The MOT has expired o The battery is flat o The tyres are below the legal limit (which they are not) o The windscreen is chipped or cracked o The engine management warning light it

I then spent hours on the phone with BCA and Audi Finance. BCA were deliberately hanging up because I requested to speak to the manager's manager (no one was available to escalate...)

Audi accepted my complaint and sided with me on the phone that there was no reason the vehicle should not be collected.

I've video and sound recordings of inspection comments and driver (ring doorbell!)

Audi have advised me not to contact BCA and that a case handler from Audi Finance would be in touch - that was a week ago. They have also stated that the complaints process could take up to 8 weeks!!!!!

The car's MOT has now lapsed as well as the insurance. Tax is still running.

The car is sitting on my driveway and I've heard nothing from Audi and chased several times. The V5C has been sent to DVLA to advise them of the transfer of the vehicle on 28th June. There is video of inspector tearing this out for me and telling me to send to DVLA.

Clearly given the history I do not want BCA now returning to do another inspection. As far as I am concerned the vehicle was Audi's responsibility from 28th June and are liable for MOT, TAX & insurance. I've stated that if the car is not collected within 7 days from 28th June I would report it as abandoned and post them the keys.

Has anyone come across such a ridiculous situation before? Realistically What are my options as I want the car gone and off my property but I am getting nowhere....and this is completely unfair.

    Thanks to anyone for advice!

    Tim
