I met with my new landlord one day to arrange moving in. We verbally agreed that I would move in and pay monthly, and be allowed to leave with a months notice. This is because I am a JR designers where I work and we weren't sure if I was going to earn enough to stay.
However, she handed me a fixed 12 month contract, I said it was the wrong one, but she said she didn't have any others done, and to just sign that one anyway, and that I had her word that it would be monthly. I signed it, and 10 months later I want to move out, because I cant afford it and found somewhere cheaper. But now she is saying that I cannot leave without paying for the full 12 month term and that I would lose my deposit if I left early. This wasn't what we agreed upon, and she is using the contract against me.
She even raised the bills, even after I persistently challenged her on it, and asked why. I never gave my consent but she did so anyway.
How can I get her to honor our agreement?
