  • Hoist debt agency county court proceedings

    Hi,
I have just received a county court claim form for an old Barclay Card debt which now totals, including fees, just over £7500. The debt has been sold on to Hoist portfolio Ltd who are now serving me notice via Northampton county court business centre.

I have received letters over the last couple of years asking for repayment from a number of debt companies (who as I’m sure you’re aware are all linked to one another) and have simply ignored them, I did respond with one letter last year asking the company to provide proof that I owe the debt to them but received no response, however I’m not sure which company I sent that to. I have not kept any paperwork from my original Barclaycard debt or from the debt collection agencies.

To be honest I admit that I owe the money to Barclaycard and will agree to set up some sort of payment plan but as my circumstances have changed since first taking out my credit card I am limited to how much I can pay which will result in it being more of a token payment. I am just looking for some advice on how to proceed and respond to the court letter, should I just accept the proceedings and agree to repay the debt monthly?

    Thanks for any advice
