ADVICE urgently required;After The Event Insurance;

I am in the process of making a road incident claim and have been advised there is After the event insurance taken out for the amount of Ł252
Does anyone know if l need this if l can do without and will solicitors take the case without this
my case is straight forward and with over 50% chances to win and don’t understand why l need the insurance
