Peel Centre Pay & Display, Stockport

I received a Ł100 parking fine today as the registered keeper. I was not the driver but in the vehicle. I am a disabled badge holder and we did not see the initial sign on entering the car park and there were no others outside DFS to alert us to pay. It is also unusual for a disabled badge holder to be changed parking. Had we have seen the signs we would have happily paid. Do I have a leg to stand on to appeal or should I just pay up?
