The Office of Fair Trading today announced that it is to put it's inquiry into bank charges to one side and launch a full scale investigation into Bob the Builder.
OFT chief executive John Fingleton said ''we're concerned with two main areas of the house building market in Sunneytown: the failure of Bob to address the shortage of new housing stock and the rise in complaints about shoddy workmanship, often attributed to Spud.''
The investigation aims to resolve 4 key issues:
Does Bob face any meaningful competition in the market and if not, are the house buying public in Sunneytown forced to deal with a monopoly?
Does Spud hold a valid City & Guilds certificate in construction?
Is Bob's cosy relationship with Wendy a major factor in his ability to only manage one complete build per episode?
And, crucialy, do the flurtatious couple ever get beyond the heavy petting stage?
