With William and Harry about embark on their marathon charity bike ride I was intrigued to know what the well healed millionaire's bike of choice was.
I was astonished to discover that they'll be riding bog standard Honda CRF 230's.
This bike is at the very bottom of Honda's off-road range. The air cooled engines used on these relics have been knocking around at the bottom of Honda's parts bin for the best part of 30 years and the conventional front suspension is little better than you'd find on a cheap mountain bike from Halfords.
These things are known as 'foo foo' bikes and are marketed at women & children. They come with a bargin basement price tag of £2600
For their sake I hope they'll be followed with a truck full of spares if they're hoping to get further than the grounds of their hotel.
