Marston’s Bailiffs found to cause fear and alarm to a child
Mark Scott a certified bailiff by Oxford combined court appeared in the same court on Friday last week to answer to a Form 4 complaint
Mark Scott from Marston’s had his certificate revoked and ordered to pay cost after being found to not be a fit and proper person for the job
...
Scott went to a home in St Dunstons Coffee Hall last summer and knocked on a door where a young girl of 12 years was home alone and opened the door
She was question with regards to where her mum was what time she would be home and went on to tell the young girl that if her mum did not contact him by 8pm that evening he would return with the police and have her arrested and taken to jail
Scott a bailiff for the previous 4 years then went on to write this statement down on a marstons headed paper also showing the girl it was a fine for a non payment of a TV Licence in back in 2002
The young Girls Mother had received the fine in 2002 and at that time she was out of work and payments were being taken weekly from her single mother allowance and when she found a job she forgot all about it and 11 years later the court realise it had not been paid so sent in the bailiffs
At court after hearing evidence from the young girl in person the court decided that it was necessary to revoke Scotts certificate for six months and the cost should be awarded to the father who brought the complaint to the court
Chances of it being reinstated would be a matter of public intrest
The young girl and her Mother are taking advice with regards to a claim for damage against Marston’s who have yet to apologise to the young girl
