Hi, My father in law died 30 years ago aged 65 leaving his entire estate to his widow.
On Sunday my mother in law sadly died aged 95 leaving an estate of about £550,000.
As I understand it she will have £325,000 IT allowance on that sum but will she also have her late husbands allowance as well?
If so is it frozen at the time of his death or will it also be £325,000 making a total of £650,000?
