I have an agreement with Renault Finance which is fast approaching the end - agreement started in Oct 2012, with Nov 2016 being the end. By this point, I would have paid of 61% of the total financing on the vehicle.
They have sent some paperwork through highlighting the options available to me - I am planning on giving the vehicle back. However, Im slightly wary of the form they have included due to the wording around it and knowing people who have been caught out by signing against similar terms when going through a VT
'It is my intention to return the vehicle and I agree that I will settle any damage or excess mileage charges as invoiced by you'
This seems slightly vague and does not specify what these charges might be or how they would be decided. And it also seems to be something they could rely on in future if there were any disputes on these later on
Instead of sending them this form, should I instead be considering a letter which outlines the terms of the return?
just read the agreement properly - appears there is a term that states they would not proceed if inspections etc are signed either by myself or an appointed person
