  • Car rejection and issues/help

So, got a used car on finance through a broker. Issues from day 1 and repairs paid for by dealership. Issue with car remains a d 3 separate garages and various guesswork repairs have been unable to identify the issues so without specialist diagnostics nobody can say if the car is even safe to use.
yes, it's been a nightmare for me but I persevered because the car was brought in from Ireland to me me and I collected ot off the ferry in Stranraer (I live outside Edinburgh)...so returning to the dealership was never an option.

Nobody can diagnose it...thougg it's agreed there is definitely problems...its even been hinted it may not be sitting squarely on the road and could be accident unreported damages which have been repaired.

So I had no choice but to now reject the car...which I began then process of doing on the 4th November 2021....
The car still loves in my driveway and December's payment will be due in the next week and I am still.waiting for it all to be resolved.

    My questions are
can I stop payment's because I am effectively without this car and can't use it and it should have been completed before now and I can't do anything about getting another car until this money isn't leaving.my Bank. I am completely without any car and have now contacted the financial ombudsman regarding this and its obviously going to take time.

When do I have the right to stop paying this finance on this rejected car I cannot use?
Am I entitled to claim for a hire car or taxis due to being left for nearly 6 weeks since I rejected the car and nothing is happening to resolve it.
What can I do in this stranglehold ...I can't afford to pay for 2 cars so am left with nothing for the foreseeable...surely this can't be right...I can't be without a car like this.

    Any advice please?
