Hi All
I have a car on finance that I am looking to VT. Recently however the car has broken down and I had to have it recovered. My finance company Blue Motor Finance have said I can still VT it and they will pick it up. Since however I have been advised that it looks like the cambelt has failed rather than a sensor I was initially advised of.
My question is will they be able to charge me for the cost of fixing this after the vehicle has been picked up? This has not broken due to neglect by myself and wasn't due for another 20k miles. Car has been serviced and MOTed correctly dice I have had it.
I was also told that I will be given a breakdown of charges when they pick the car up. I assume they can't add anything extra after this? Who do they usually get to collect the car? Is it a mechanic or will it be the car auctioneers?
Any help woukd be appreciated as I don't want to VT the car then be hit with a charge to replace the engine.
Thanks All.
