  • Finance company threatening to forcibly remove my car - payments up to date

    Hi,

I rejected my Audi A5 in October last year because of numerous problems. The dealer, and subsequently VWFS, deny any problems despite video evidence. I abandoned the car, a 17 plate, in the road in front of the dealer in May 2018. It's been stood there since.

The ombudsman finally contacted me today with an offer from VWFS for two months worth of payments and my deposit. My payments are all up to date. If I don't accept the offer "they might forcibly remove the vehicle as it's their asset and they already have the legal go-ahead to do so." This makes sense, but is there legal protection for me to still have access to the vehicle that I am paying for? Are they allowed to lock it in their property thus restricting my access to it?
