Hey all!
I'm about to start the VT process with VWFS and have a couple of questions. I also figured I'd use the thread for a running commentary of the inevitable excess mileage argument. Anyway, firstly, my questions:
1) As of the 7th I'll have paid 49.999999% of the agreement, with a whole £1.10 left to pay. If I want to terminate the agreement at this point, how does that work? Do I include a cheque for the remaining value with my initial letter, wait for them to invoice me, or do I have to wait another month before terminating?
2) My mileage agreement was for 10,000 miles/year over 4 years. We're currently at just under 3 years, with just over 37,000 on the clock. However, having looked at the contract, it states 10,000 miles per year or 35,000 miles over the 4 year term! That's 8,750 miles per year. How is that even enforceable? Is that normal to see, or has the dealer/finance company screwed up when filling out the terms?
Much thanks for any input. Planning to send the letter as soon as I know what to do about the £1.10 I still owe, and will keep everyone posted on how the whole thing goes.
