  • Smart Parking Appeal Declined and referred to Debt Collection Agency

My husband was working at a retail park for 4 days (in Northern Ireland) and was told by the site foreman that it was ok to park on the site but we received 4 fines from Smart Parking. I appealed them online and didnt hear anything until we received a letter from a debt collection agency yesterday looking for £640!!!!!. They said we should have received an email rather than a written reply about the appeal as we appealed it online. Unfortunately I gave my husbands email address when i entered the appeal information but I was never made aware that they would reply by email...which they did ...but my husband never really uses his emails so we never got it... I have contacted Smart Parking to explain but they wont take anything I say into account and say its out of their hands. WHAT CAN I DO....I DONT HAVE THIS KIND OF MONEY and i feel they are being very unfair. PLEASE HELP!
