  • Court letter received

    Hi

    Hoping someone can help.

My friend and I parked on a pub car park back in January that is monitored by ANPR and is controlled by Parking Eye.

She paid for parking and presented her ticket to the bar staff as they have a policy whereby they refund parking fees so long as you are a customer.

Out of the blue, 2 weeks ago, a Court letter arrived for unpaid parking charges. This is the first and only letter that she has received in regards to this. Apparently, she is being chased for unpaid parking charges as they have camera footage of her entering and leaving the car park without paying.

Fortunately, she still has the ticket which she purchased that night, it has her number plate printed on it as she had to enter the number plate into the parking machine.

She has responded to the court letter, just the acknowledgement, and we are now trying to prepare her defence but we could do with some advice on what to include.

She has been back to the pub and spoke to the Manager, he said he is fed up of Parking Eye as he gets so many complaints - even his staff regularly get parking fines through. He has promised to try and help but has advised her to prepare her defence just in case as he has never dealt with one whereby the customer has had no other letters beforehand.
