  • Parking Ticket APCOA

    Hello

I wonder if someone can please give me some guidance.

I lease a car from my firm benefits salary sacrifice scheme. I have today had an email from them with a copy of a parking notice they have received dated 3rd February 2022 whereby on 22 January 2022 I was parking at my local train station without a ticket or permit. I must've been there fore 20 minutes - no longer. I was waiting for someone but the ANPR cameras have clearly picked up my number plate. I had no idea about the parking charges - they say signs are clear but they weren't that clear in the dark. I didn't even get out of my car.

Anyway, the car company has given my details as the driver and I am waiting for their correspondence to arrive. My questions...

I know they have 14 days to issue me with the notice if I owned my car. The date of the notice is 3rd February and the offence was 22nd January although received today 9th February. If the notice is considered to have been received 2 days after posting I consider that although the notice was dated 3rd February it wasn't actually posted and therefore issued until 7th February. Is there a blip here or do I simply have to wait because I haven't had my notice yet? Or can I appeal on this basis in the first instance? Or do I wait to see how long it takes for them to contact me to see if they miss that timescales too?

    Any guidance would be helpful.

    Thanks
