I've just declared a sorn for my elderly neighbour. He's had a few heart problems and keeps blacking out and advised not to drive again so will eventually be getting rid of his car. It was currently taxed till 1st Sep 2015 and his insurance is up end of this month and he won't be renewing the insurance so I told him it needs to be sorn'd even though it's still taxed and kept off road in his garage.
I've today sorn'd it for him online using his reg and V5c ref and it has confirmed sorn with a Sorn start date of 1st Oct 2014 and says any remaining tax will automatically be issued. I thought only complete full months tax can be refunded so does that mean he will get the month of October refunded as well?
